Faxing has been around for decades, but it is still relevant because it provides a secure and reliable method of transmitting sensitive and confidential information. Many industries, such as healthcare and finance, still use fax as a primary mode of communication due to legal requirements for document authenticity and privacy. Faxing using the Granite Cloud Phone System is HIPAA compliant and all fax transmissions from our system are TLS encrypted.
A fax portal provides convenience, increased security, cost savings, improved organization, environmental friendliness, and increased reliability compared to traditional faxing methods. Fax portals allow you to send and receive faxes from any internet-connected device, use encrypted connections for added security, reduce costs associated with paper and long-distance charges, improve organization with features for storing and retrieving faxes, reduce paper waste, and offer increased reliability with delivery confirmation.
A fax ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter) is a small device that allows you to connect a fax machine to the Granite Cloud Phone System fax services over the internet. The ATA converts the analog signal from the fax machine into a digital signal that can be transmitted over the internet to the cloud. Benefits of using a fax ATA over a traditional phone line are increased reliability, lower costs, and added features. Features include receiving an email attachment in addition to the regular paper copy of the fax and the ability to send outbound faxes via email to fax.
